Summer in Miami can be steamy hot to say the least. I’m always on the lookout for the lightest, smallest summer dresses that still look classy and that can be a lot to ask for. What makes this task even MORE challenging is my belly bump which seems to be growing a mile a minute these days. Having a newfound round Winnie-the-Pooh shape, I find that I really want to show off my legs to balance out my roundness and make me feel feminine! This dress is one I recently found at TJ Maxx for just $40 (on clearance, of course!) and it more than fits all my requirements. I absolutely love it. I paired it with my-oh-so-loved YSL Platforms (purchased at the yearly designer shoe sale at Off Saks a few months back), and my new love-of-my-life hand-stitched Fendi purse (purchased at the ONLY place I buy designer handbags- Consignment Bar). There is something about walking out of my house in an outfit I love that makes me feel like I can take on the world!

I recently bought my very first pair of Louboutins! Yes, it’s true, I am the proud owner of the beauties pictured below. And how, might you ask, does a Frugalista like me get away with having a pair of $900 shoes and still be able to proudly hold the title of Frugalista? Well, this is the most exciting part; there is this great little consignment store in Miami that made me it possible for me to pay only $250 for these heels. The store is called The Consignment Bar, located on Biscayne and 74th St. It’s a beautiful little shop filled with gorgeous designer handbags, dresses, clothing, accessories and shoes! The items are all lightly used (but in great condition) making it possible for money-conscious ladies like myself to enjoy these designer gems! I’ve also purchased my Prada bag pictured below and my black Fendi (that I seem to wear every weekend) there, as well. This is a great shop to tell your boyfriends or husbands about when birthdays and holidays roll around! You can also now shop online. If you don’t know, now you know!
I made my husband take this shot on the way back to the car from a furniture store (a new bed was top on my Christmas list). Afterwards we went to this new sandwich place called Montaditos in Design District, which is a must-try for you Miamians! This vintage skirt is one of my new favorites. The floweyness makes me feel so feminine and free! Perfect comfy day-time look for a day of running around.

It’s been wonderful to see all the attention that Miami has been getting throughout the Art Basel week! I get proud and excited to see so many articles on Miami Art Basel all over Style.com, Elle.com, WWD.com and just about any other big fashion magazine site. I sometimes find myself having to stick up for my city; with all the talk of the shallow, plastic, materialistic Miamians. But I KNOW that Miami has a lot to offer culturally and otherwise and I love that others have the opportunity to see this as well through Art Basel Miami! Here are some shots from the weekend.

I drove to Orlando last weekend and arrived just in time to meet a serious cold front (serious meaning it got into the high 50s- 60s). I was a bit unprepared since its been in the 80s and even 90s here in Miami throughout the week. Luckily I took a purple Tibi New York cropped fall jacket I recently purchased. I bought it on a super sale paying $45 when it was originally priced over $300! Steal! I paired it with a fox fur neck collar that I recenlty thrifted. These vintage pieces are a fabulous way to glamorize and revamp any light jackets or sweaters for the upcoming chilly months!

I recently went to France for the first time and was more than impressed by how beautiful this country is. It seemed like everything I saw was more beautiful than the last. We started off with a mini-tour of the South of France (Avignon, Cassis, St Tropez, Mougins, Cannes) and ended our trip in Paris. As if packing wasn’t enough of a challenge for me (I need a full 24 hours to coordinate outfits and dwindle down my shoe selection to only 5), I was thrown a curve-ball since I had to prepare for both summer weather and chilly fall weather. All items below are vintage or consignment pieces form my closet except for the BCBG Blazer, J Brand jeans, and KReLwear romper (new purchase that I LOVE from a very talented Miami designer- Check out the website). Most used items for this trip: Nude colored woven leather vintage flats (could walk for days in them and they go with everything), BCBG Max Azria Blazer, Neiman Marcus vintage gray silk cardigan).
My guilty pleasure? Bravo TV reality shows. While watching Millionaire Matchmaker over the weekend, (Patty, you so crazy!), I caught a glimpse of my new favorite-to-be Bravo reality show…. Fashion Hunters. This is a new reality show based out of a New York consignment shop and all the drama that surrounds them. Really?! A show about the thing most near and dear to my heart? Sign me up! Premiere is tomorrow October 4th at 10:30. I hope they don’t disappoint!
