I went to Boston for a weekend trip and wore these great Pinkerton silk pants on the flight there. These pajama pants are perfectly comfy for travel. It was as hot and steamy in Boston as it is here in Miami so I was grateful for the super light material since we went straight on a mini tour of the downtown area after arriving. Pre-pregnancy, I preferred to wear them with a cropped flowy top for a lighter, airier look, but my options are a little more limited nowadays. Silky pajama pants have been heavy on the street style circuit, check out other cool ways to style them below. I love when clothes are just as comfy as they are fun to wear! Summer in Miami can be steamy hot to say the least. I’m always on the lookout for the lightest, smallest summer dresses that still look classy and that can be a lot to ask for. What makes this task even MORE challenging is my belly bump which seems to be growing a mile a minute these days. Having a newfound round Winnie-the-Pooh shape, I find that I really want to show off my legs to balance out my roundness and make me feel feminine! This dress is one I recently found at TJ Maxx for just $40 (on clearance, of course!) and it more than fits all my requirements. I absolutely love it. I paired it with my-oh-so-loved YSL Platforms (purchased at the yearly designer shoe sale at Off Saks a few months back), and my new love-of-my-life hand-stitched Fendi purse (purchased at the ONLY place I buy designer handbags- Consignment Bar). There is something about walking out of my house in an outfit I love that makes me feel like I can take on the world!

One of the many reasons why I love Miami is that there is always something going on. MAC had an “insiders” party that I attended last minute with some friends a few days ago. It was at the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar in Design District and was such a cool laid back event. I was on visual stimulation overload (in a good way) and could barely focus on one thing. There were human statues and living art exhibits everywhere surrounded by this beautiful mural-covered courtyard. I love this kind of crap!!

HAPPY FRIDAY AND HAPPY HAPPY EASTER WEEKEND!
Neon accents are one of the many Spring/Summer trends that have hit the streets! I bought this neon green badeau top at Ragstock in Minneapolis for $4 and wore it all weekend! I’m loving the fun way it brightens up any ol’ outfit. Get it here at Amazon.com for $5! Skinny bright belts like the one I am wearing here are also a fun and easy way to bring this trend into your wardrobe. Here is a similar one for $10!

I was feeling all bright and disco-retro inspired over the weekend. Now that Spring is officially here, I feel even more inclined (if that’s possible) to brighten up my looks. This season don’t be scared to mix bold bright colors together. I’m loving my bright yellow shoes and how much they add to anything I pair them with. If you’re looking for one hot item for Spring I highly recommend investing in a bold-colored statement shoe. When in doubt, I go to my trusty yellow sandals and coral colored wedges to finish my look!

The weather in Miami continues to be a little too warm for fall clothes and a little too cool for summer dresses. I’ve had this little summer dress and found a perfect way to make it work for this in between seasons weather by layering with a sheer vintage short sleeve shirt. I tied the shirt in the back to keep the waist accentuated and ta da! A new outfit is born! Keeping your look updated is all about reworking what’s already in your closet! Happy Friday!

I recently bought my very first pair of Louboutins! Yes, it’s true, I am the proud owner of the beauties pictured below. And how, might you ask, does a Frugalista like me get away with having a pair of $900 shoes and still be able to proudly hold the title of Frugalista? Well, this is the most exciting part; there is this great little consignment store in Miami that made me it possible for me to pay only $250 for these heels. The store is called The Consignment Bar, located on Biscayne and 74th St. It’s a beautiful little shop filled with gorgeous designer handbags, dresses, clothing, accessories and shoes! The items are all lightly used (but in great condition) making it possible for money-conscious ladies like myself to enjoy these designer gems! I’ve also purchased my Prada bag pictured below and my black Fendi (that I seem to wear every weekend) there, as well. This is a great shop to tell your boyfriends or husbands about when birthdays and holidays roll around! You can also now shop online. If you don’t know, now you know!
I’ll be 29 on Tuesday and for some reason that age was feeling pretty daunting. On top of that I have recently come to the realization that my highlight of the week went from being Friday’s cocktail hour to Sunday brunch. When did that happen? Either way, I’m getting old and I’m proud! Who wants to be young and clueless forever anyway!? We went to Sra Martinez for brunch and I was happy that it finally got chilly enough to wear this beautiful vintage coat/sweater that I purchased months ago. I absolutely adore the vibrant red and purple color combination. Another perfect Sunday brunch followed by a Sunday stroll in my vintage coat and in all my Grown Woman glory!
PS: Stay tuned for some beautiful Despy vintage jackets and outerwear soon to be posted for sale!
I recently bought this Gypsy 05 jumper and wore if for the first time a couple of days ago. The jumper is so light and silky that I almost felt wrong for being too comfortable in public. Being someone that usually places comfort last in matters of fashion, this made me think that I may just have to re-asses my fashion priorities… maybe.
